Newton's Laws of Motion

Summary

Published in his "Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica" in 1687, these three laws laid the foundation for classical mechanics. They describe inertia, the relationship between force, mass, and acceleration (F=ma), and the principle of action and reaction. These laws dominated the scientific view of the physical universe for over three centuries.

"If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants."
