Biography
An English mathematician, physicist, astronomer, alchemist, theologian, and author who is widely recognized as one of the greatest mathematicians and most influential scientists of all time. His book "Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica" laid the foundations of classical mechanics.
Legacy
Newton's laws of motion and universal gravitation dominated scientists' view of the physical universe for the next three centuries. His work in optics and mathematics, including the development of calculus, remains fundamental to science today.
