Biography
A Venezuelan military and political leader who led what are currently the countries of Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Panama to independence from the Spanish Empire. He is known colloquially as El Libertador, or the Liberator of America.
Legacy
Bolívar envisioned a united Spanish America, a dream that ultimately failed but continues to inspire politicians and movements across the continent. His impact on the sovereignty of South American nations is immeasurable.
